Schemes for food processing sector
The Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Govt. of India has issued Expression of Interest (EOI) for inviting proposals from prospective entrepreneurs/ investors under the following scheme under Pradhan Mantri Kisan Sampada Yojana (PMKSY).
(i) Creation of Infrastructure for Agro-processing Clusters (closing date of EOI 30.11.2018):
- Eligible Organizations are Govt. / PSUs / Joint Ventures/NGOs / Cooperatives / Self Help Groups (SHGs) / Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) / Farmer Producer Companies (FPCs)/ Private Sector / partnership firm/ individuals etc.
- Capital grant @ 35% / 50% in general/difficult area up to max Rs. 10 Cr.
- At least 10 acres is required either by purchase or on lease of at least 50 years.
- 70 slots available in the country.
(ii) Creation of Backward and Forward Linkages (closing date of EOI 30.11.2018 for NER and SC / ST promoters):
- Eligible Organizations are Central and State PSUs / Joint Ventures / NGOs / Cooperatives / Self Help Groups (SHGs)/Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) /Farmer Producer Companies (FPCs) / Private Sector / Partnership firm / individuals etc.
- Capital grant @ 35% /50% in general / difficult areas up to max. of Rs 5.00 Cr
- Land as per requirement of the project
(iii) Creation / Expansion of Food Processing & Preservation Capacities (closing date of EOI 15.12.2018):
- Eligible Organizations are Central and State PSUs / Joint Ventures / NGOs / Cooperatives / Self Help Groups (SHGs) / Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) / Farmer Producer Companies (FPCs) / Private Sector / partnership firm / individuals etc.
- Capital grant @ 35% / 50% in general / difficult areas / SC&ST promoters up to max Rs 5 crore
- Units shall be set up in Mega Food Parks, Agro Processing Clusters and designated Food Parks notified by the Ministry from time to time. However, the proposals from SC/ST promoters having eligible project cost of Rs 5 crore or more may set up food processing units anywhere in the country.
